Spring is around the corner

It really feels as though spring is not far off now and I am busy ordering plants for planting schemes that are to be implemented soon.

It is time to be planning the vegetables that you want to grow this year and to start chitting early potatoes. Empty your compost bins, to use the compost on your vegetable beds, or on your ornamental borders as a mulch between plants. Ideally choose a sunny day when the soil has warmed up, but is still moist. Any compost that is not ready for use can be returned to the compost heap/bin for further decomposing.
